He loves fishing and is very excited about the guests actually landing the fish once he puts them on them. He is ideal for a fly fisherman who has never fished in saltwater before. Dennis "Disho" Young
Dennis is an enthusiastic early 30’s guide. He has been guiding for over fifteen years around Turneffe Atoll and the Belize River. Dennis has been working for the resort since 2007; he comes from a line of very experienced fishermen. His great, great grandfather was one of the first to own a fishing camp on the Turneffe Atoll. His father, uncles and cousins were or are still active guides and fished over most of the Belizean waters. His father was a former guide at Turneffe Island Lodge before it turned into a resort. Dennis grew up on his dad’s fishing camp about five minute’s boat ride from the resort. “Disho” as most people call him on the Island and Belize City loves fishing, according to him, he was born to fish. He also loves teaching people the art of fishing. Whether you are a beginner or a full ground fisherman, he will always tech you some new technique in spotting and making the catch. |
