Matt Koerner, General Manager Matt's career began when he was a drafts person for an architecture company in Arizona, when he and a few friends would go diving at every available opportunity. He decided to leave the corporate world behind and follow his passion of diving. He completed his Dive Master course in Florida and was offered a position with Nekton Diving Cruises - a live aboard boat that traversed the Caribbean from the Bahamas to Puerto Rico which he happily accepted. He had always been a mechanically minded person and loved fixing things, which lead Matt is very dedicated to making things work perfectly for your visit so that you can concentrate on the relaxation, fun and adventure that await you on our Island! |

Morag Koerner, General Manager
Morag began her diving career in Egypt Sharm El Sheikh in 1996 with what was meant to be a gap year to decide what to study. It just so happened that she fell in love with diving, teaching and travel which took her around the world. Her journey continued on to the Comore islands in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Madagascar as a dive instructor then onto Fregate a private 5 star island in the Seychelles. She gained valuable hospitality experience as she traveled Europe and spent a year working as a front of house manager for a hotel chain in the Isle of Mann. The call of the ocean was too much and she returned to diving. Morag landed at the small island of Gizo, part of a chain of islands that make up the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. There she managed the water sport department for Solomon Connect. Unfortunately there was a coup and all too soon she had to leave. Following the trade winds she found herself in the Caribbean on an Explorer Venture "live aboard" dive boat diving the tranquil seas off the island of Provo in Turks and Caicos. There she met her husband who was working for a rival company. They then gained a great deal of experience managing yachts, dive centers and retreats. Valuable diving and hospitality experience was gained with stops in the "spice island" of Zanzibar, the islands of St Maarten, St Kitts, St Eustatia and Saba and the Mediterranean for a year before heading back to South Africa to get married. They made one more stop in Benguerra off the cost of Mozambique Africa before giving in to the great desire to return to the Caribbean, the place that had captured their hearts. They found Turneffe Island Resort and called it home. Morag has developed a great sense of the importance of getting the details right. She looks forward to making sure the details are right for everyone visiting the resort so that your escape to Turneffe Island is just that! |
