Dive Master Bios

Brad

Brad was a commercial fisherman (free diving) from a very young age. He then started working for Turneffe Island Resort as a general helper. He learned all about diving here and has been working as a dive master / boat captain for us for over a decade. He is very well spoken and a real gentleman. His wife joins him on the island and works in the housekeeping department.

Marcel

Marcel has a commercial fisherman base in the area. He came to Turneffe Island Resort as a fishing guide, but decided he was a lot happier under the water. He has been a dive master / boat captain for over a decade. Marcel is quick to laugh and is very relaxed under water.  His wife joins him on the island as the assistant chef.

Daniel

Daniel is a certified PADI specialty instructor. He dives daily and is very comfortable in his underwater lifestyle. He has instructed all over Belize for several years now. Underwater, Daniel is very patient and knowledgeable of the surrounding wildlife.  Daniel is also an avid GoPro photographer and skilled film editor.

Marcella (Cella)

Cella began her time at TIR in the kitchen.  Coming from a seafaring family (she is the sister of two of our Fishing Guides) the call of the sea was too great to ignore.  She is currently a Dive Master and will soon be a PADI instructor.  Cella is very patient and an outstanding spotter of micro life.  You will always be able to hear her laugh, both above and under water.

John

John is happeier above the water and is our faithful dive boat captain.  His thick Creole accent blends perfectly with the mangroves and turquoise water. You will never forget an experience riding back home to the island under the  stars and swerving through the mangroves after an exciting night dive.
